Ireland Factory Output Rises For Fifth Month
(RTTNews) - Ireland's manufacturing output increased for the fifth straight month in May, but at slower rate than in the previous month, preliminary figures from the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.
Manufacturing output climbed a seasonally adjusted 32.3 percent year-on-year in May, after a 37.0 percent jump seen in April. In March, production surged 15.9 percent.
Overall industrial production rose 22.3 percent annually in May, after a 25.3 percent gain in the previous month. Production grew for the fifth straight month.
On a monthly basis, manufacturing output fell 2.5 percent in May, in contrast to a 17.8 percent climb in the previous month. This was the first decline in five months. Industrial production shrunk 2.3 percent, after a 9.4 percent rise in the previous month.
