Greece Import Prices Continue To Decline
(RTTNews) - Greece import prices declined for the eighteenth consecutive month in May, the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Friday.
Import prices fell 1.4 percent year-on-year in May, which was bigger than the 1.1 percent drop posted in April. Prices were down over the past eighteen consecutive months.
Intermediate goods prices slipped 1.3 percent and non-durable consumer goods fell 2.6 percent. Import prices of energy decreased more sharply by 3.9 percent. Only capital goods showed an annual increase, up 1.4 percent.
Month-on-month, import prices advanced 0.4 percent, reversing April's 0.1 percent fall. This was the first increase in three months.
Import prices for the Eurozone market remained unchanged from April, while that for non-Eurozone market gained 0.8 percent.
