Eurozone Industrial Output Recovers In April

(RTTNews) - Eurozone industrial production recovered at a faster than expected pace in April, Eurostat showed Tuesday.

Industrial production climbed 1.1 percent in April from March when it fell by revised 0.7 percent.

Production was forecast to expand 0.8 percent. This was the first increase in three months.

On a yearly basis, growth in industrial output improved to 2 percent from 0.2 percent. It was also bigger than the expected growth of 1.4 percent.

Among components, production of intermediate goods gained 0.4 percent on month and energy rose 0.3 percent.

Production of capital goods and durable consumer goods advanced 1.9 percent and 2.3 percent. Non-durable consumer goods output rose 1.6 percent.
