China Manufacturing PMI On Tap For Friday
(RTTNews) - China will on Friday see the October results for its official manufacturing PMI, highlighting a busy day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. The PMI is expected to show a score of 51.1 - unchanged from the previous month and continuing to suggest expansion.
China also will see October results for the HSBC/Markit Manufacturing PMI, with forecasts calling for a score of 50.7 - up from 50.2 in September.
Australia will provide October figures for commodity prices and the AiG Performance of Manufacturing Index, as well as Q3 data for producer prices.
In September, the commodity price index dipped 3.1 percent on year to a score of 90.2, while the AiG PMI saw a score of 51.7. Producer prices were up 0.1 percent on quarter and 1.2 percent on year in Q2.
Japan will release October numbers for vehicle sales and official reserve assets; in September, they were up 12.4 percent on year and at $1,273.5 billion, respectively.
South Korea will announce inflation figures for October; in September, CPI was up 0.2 percent on month and 0.8 percent on year.
South Korea also will provide October trade data; in September, imports were down 3.6 percent on year to $41.03 billion and exports shed 1.5 percent to $44.74 billion for a surplus of $3.71 billion.
Thailand will release October numbers for consumer and producer prices. CPI is expected to add 0.2 percent on month and 1.5 percent on year after gaining 0.16 percent on month and 1.4 percent on year in September. Core inflation was up 0.09 percent on month and 0.6 percent on year in September, while PPI was up 1.0 percent on month and 0.6 percent on year.
Indonesia will provide September trade data October figures for inflation. In August, imports were worth $13.03 billion and exports were at $13.16 billion for a surplus of $0.13 billion.
In September, inflation was down 0.35 percent on month and up 8.4 percent on year, while core CPI was up 0.78 percent on month and 6.73 percent on year.
Finally, markets in the Philippines will be closed on Friday in observance of All Saints Day, and will re-open on Monday.
