Bulgaria Q4 Unemployment Rate Falls

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's jobless rate declined in the fourth quarter from a year ago, figures from National Statistical Institute showed Monday.

The unemployment rate fell by 2.4 percentage points to 10.6 percent in three months ended in December from 13.0 percent in the same period last year.

The number of unemployed persons decreased to 354,500 in the three-month period to December from 439,800 in the corresponding period previous year.

At the same time, the unemployment for the age group 15 to 24, dropped to 24 percent from 28.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the employment rate for population aged 15 to 64 was 61.4 percent in the fourth quarter, up by 1.8 percentage points from the corresponding quarter last year.
