Bulgaria Q3 Growth Revised Down

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's economic growth slowed more-than-expected in the third quarter, preliminary figures from the National Statistical Institute showed Wednesday.

Gross domestic product grew 1.5 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, which was revised from 1.6 percent estimated initially. In the second quarter, the growth rate was 1.8 percent.

Exports declined 2.8 percent annually in the third quarter, revised from 2.4 percent. Meanwhile, imports grew 2.6 percent, revised from 1.0 percent.

Final consumption rose 0.8 percent yearly in the three-month period to September, slower than 1.2 percent increase in the previous quarter. Household consumption growth also eased to 0.6 percent from 0.9 percent.

On quarterly basis, GDP grew 0.4 percent in the third quarter, revised from 0.5 percent. In the second quarter, gross domestic product rose only 0.3 percent.
