Austria Inflation Remains Stable In July
(RTTNews) - Austria's consumer price inflation held steady for the second straight month in July, figures from Statistics Austria showed Thursday.
The consumer price index rose 0.6 percent year-over-year in July, the same rate of increase as in May and June.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages climbed 0.5 percent annually in July and and clothing and footwear prices went up by 1.9 percent. Meanwhile, transport costs registered a decline of 2.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.4 percent at the start of the third quarter.
The EU measure of inflation, or HICP, also increased at a stable pace of 0.6 percent yearly in July. Month-on-month, the HICP decreased 0.5 percent.
