Australia Manufacturing Sector Swings To Expansion

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Australia moved into expansion in November, the latest survey from the Australia Industry Group revealed on Monday, with a PMI score of 50.1.

That's up from 49.4 in October, and it moves above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.

The index had been contractionary since July.

Among the individual components of the survey, four of the eight manufacturing sub-sectors expanded, including food and beverages, wood and paper products, textiles, clothing and furniture, and non-metallic mineral products.
