ProAssurance Corporation -- Moody's rates ProAssurance's shelf registration

New York, August 08, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned provisional ratings (senior unsecured shelf at (P)Baa2 and preferred stock shelf at (P)Ba1) to ProAssurance Corporation's (ProAssurance, NYSE: PRA) shelf registration. The shelf replaces the company's previous shelf registration, which expired on 22 May 2016. The outlook for ProAssurance's debt and insurance financial strength (IFS) ratings is stable.
