Moody's: Met coal prices likely at bottom, but recovery will be modest

New York, July 11, 2014 -- With the third-quarter benchmark price staying at $120 per metric tonne, the same price it was in the second quarter, Moody's Investors Service says pricing for metallurgical coal is at or near a bottom. Although Moody's expects prices to recover modestly to $140 per metric tonne by the end of 2015, additional global supply will keep prices near these low levels for the next few years.
