New York, June 08, 2016 -- Moody's Investors Service (Moody's) assigned a Baa3 rating to Ecopetrol S.A. (Ecopetrol)'s proposed USD 500 million add-on notes to its 5.875% senior unsecured notes due in September 2023. The original notes issued in September 2013 will now total USD 1.8 billion, including the proposed add-on. Proceeds from the proposed notes issuance will be used for capital expenditures and other general corporate purposes. The outlook on the ratings is negative.
