Boeing Company (The) -- Moody's Says First JAL Order for Airbus Planes is Credit Positive for EADS, Credit Negative for Boeing
New York, October 08, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service said the 7 October 2013 order by Japan Airlines International Co., Ltd. (JAL) for new jets from Airbus, a subsidiary of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. EADS (A2 stable), is a credit positive development for EADS and credit negative for competitor The Boeing Co. (A2 stable). JAL announced definitive orders for 31 of Airbus' forthcoming A350 XWB widebody jets, including 18 A350-900s and 13 A350-1000s, with scheduled deliveries to begin in 2019.
