yet2.com Links Rockwell Collins and Agfa in Optical Filters Technology Agreement; Licensing Deal is the Fourth for Agfa and the First for Rockwell Collins Through yet2.com

    Business Editors/High-Tech Editors

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2005--European industrial giant Agfa-Gevaert NV (AGFB on Euronext Brussels) has signed a technology transfer agreement with Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL). The agreement allows Agfa to license optical filter technology developed by Rockwell Collins for insertion into products currently being developed by Agfa.
Yet2.com Inc., intellectual property licensing consultants and operators of the yet2.com online technology marketplace, brought the two parties together.
This is Agfa's fourth licensing deal arranged through yet2.com.
Rockwell Scientific Company (RSC), an independent high-technology firm, co-owned by Rockwell Collins and Rockwell Automation, originally developed the filtering technology under a research contract from Rockwell Collins. Rockwell Scientific Licensing (RSL) is the licensing agent for these divisions.
"Through working with yet2.com, RSL discovered an opportunity to license technology that filters specific wavelengths of light in a way that Agfa required," said Ben duPont, President of Yet2.com Inc. "We are helping hundreds of similar companies everywhere in the world acquire or license the world's top technologies."
"We use yet2.com as a resource to help find licensees for our technology and that of our parent companies. This deal with Agfa is a win-win for everyone involved," said Joe Cote, president of Rockwell Scientific Licensing.
"Agfa is happy to have located this technology through yet2.com so quickly," said Luc Vanmaele, Manager Technology Scouting, R&D Materials for Agfa. "Our researchers routinely post yet2.com TechNeeds as a parallel channel to find solutions faster and to shorten time-to-market."
