Yahoo! Appoints Ash Patel Chief Product Officer

As part of his new role, Patel will be responsible for Yahoo!'scentralized services groups, including product and strategydevelopment, network and community services, communications services,editorial and policy, and user experience and design. Patel will workclosely with product leaders across the company to enhance Yahoo!'sproduct development processes, improve speed of execution, and delivernew, innovative, high-quality services.

Patel joined Yahoo! in 1996 and is one of the company's trueproduct visionaries. He has been a strong advocate for the developmentof some of its most important services and platforms, such aspersonalization, community, and communications. He was a majorcontributor to the creation of My Yahoo!, identifying early on theopportunity for a personalized experience on the Internet, and wasinstrumental in building Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Finance.

Patel holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Computer Sciencefrom the Kings College University of London.
