Xilinx Inc. Profit Retreats 22% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Xilinx Inc. (XLNX) revealed earnings for third quarter that dropped compared to the same period last year.

The company said its earnings dropped to $130.82 million, or $0.49 per share. This was lower than $168.47 million, or $0.62 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.49 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 4.6% to $566.24 million. This was down from $593.55 million last year.
