Xcel Energy Inc Reveals 4% Increase In Q1 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Xcel Energy Inc (XEL) reported a profit for its first quarter that climbed from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $241 million, or $0.47 per share. This was higher than $231 million, or $0.46 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.47 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 6.4% to $2.77 billion. This was down from $2.96 billion last year.
