Xcel Energy Inc Reveals 15% Rise In Q3 Earnings

(RTTNews) - Xcel Energy Inc (XEL) reported a profit for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $426 million, or $0.84 per share. This was up from $369 million, or $0.73 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.80 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.0% to $2.90 billion. This was up from $2.87 billion last year.
