Winners Announced for the 7th Annual Platts Global Energy Awards
NEW YORK, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Platts has announced the winners of the 2005 Platts Global Energy Awards. The event, supported this year by lead sponsor Capgemini, along with co-sponsors HP, Intel and Pace Global Energy Services, recognizes excellence in the global energy industry. Additional support comes from BusinessWeek magazine and J.D. Power and Associates which, like Platts, are businesses of The McGraw-Hill Companies .
Approximately 400 top executives from more than two dozen countries on five continents gathered in New York on December 1, 2005 at the Roosevelt Hotel to honor the energy industry's "Best of the Best." The Platts Global Energy Awards showcases extraordinary accomplishments from energy business worldwide. The finalists and winners illustrate true innovative spirit and enduring commitment to employees, customers, shareholders, and the industry as a whole.
Each year, an international panel of judges composed of the energy industry's elite, including top corporate executives, leading academics, respected commentators, senior analysts and knowledgeable editors, convene in London to cast their votes. Preeminent in their fields, these individuals are able to evaluate each entry within its category and also within the context of the energy industry as a whole.
Now in its 7th year, the Platts Global Energy Awards is the most prestigious awards program in the industry. Platts received nearly 200 nominations from energy companies around the world.
