Westwood One Appoints Bob Meyers to Newly Created Position of Executive Vice President of Digital Media, Data & Video
NEW YORK, May 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Westwood One announced today that, effective May 8, 2006, Bob Meyers will assume the position of Executive Vice President of Digital Media, Data and Video at Westwood One. In this newly created position, Meyers will oversee strategy, product development, technical implementation and marketing of all current and future digital media products, as well as management of the video syndication business and SmartRoute Systems. He will be based in New York and report directly to Peter Kosann, Westwood One President and CEO.

Meyers has more than 17 years experience in digital media, having entered the business in its infancy, creating Viacom Interactive Services and serving as its first Senior Vice President in the 1990's. Throughout the decade, Meyers remained at the very forefront of digital media, moving to NBC in 1996 and serving as SVP of Interactive Media and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CNBC.com. In 2002, Meyers was named General Manager of CNBC Enterprises and in 2004 added the title of SVP Prime Time Programming. Most recently, Meyers joined the Board of Directors of DoubleClick, Inc. in New York City. A Tufts University graduate, Meyers received his MBA from Columbia University.
Meyers joins Westwood One as the Company continues to focus on forging new ground and remaining at the forefront of the digital marketplace. Meyers' experience and leadership in this field is the next step in taking Westwood One's digital media platform to new heights. Over the past several years, Westwood One has: launched the new http://www.westwoodone.com/, which now offers interactive, streaming and downloadable content to a worldwide audience; launched SmartRoute System's RealTraffic(TM), to provide real-time traffic data to the online community; entered into an exclusive agreement with TrafficCast, the leader in predictive and flow traffic information in the U.S. and China, to deliver integrated real-time traffic information for Yahoo! via Yahoo!
