Wal-Mart Reportedly In Talks To Sell Chinese E-Commerce Business To JD.com

(RTTNews) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) is in discussions to sell its online e-commerce platform in China to the country's No. 2 e-commerce company as part of a potential strategic tie-up, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter.

JD.com Inc., which is the second-largest online retailer in China after Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., is in talks to buy Yihaodian from Wal-Mart. The exact terms of the deal couldn't be learned, but could value Yihaodian at between $1 billion and $2 billion and include a broader partnership between Wal-Mart and JD.com, the report said.
