Visa Q4 Profit Down - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $1.19 billion or $1.85 per share, down from $1.66 billion or $2.47 per share in the same period last year.

Last year's earnings included a one-time tax benefit of $627 million or $0.93 per share, excluding which, earnings would have been $1.04 billion or $1.54 per share.

On average, 31 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.85 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues increased to $2.97 billion from $2.73 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $3.02 billion.
