Visa Q3 Profit Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $1.23 billion or $1.88 per class A share, compared to loss of $1.84 billion or $2.74 per class A share last year.

Last year, results were impacted by litigation expense of $4.10 billion. Excluding special items, earnings for the last year third quarter were $1.06 billion or $1.56 per share.

On average, 32 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.80 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total operating revenues for the quarter were $3.00 billion, up from $2.57 billion last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $2.89 billion for the quarter.
