USA TODAY to Open News Bureau in New Orleans

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY announced today it will open a news bureau in the New Orleans area on Nov. 28. The bureau will be located in the New Orleans suburb of St. Rose, La.

Anne Rochell Konigsmark joins USA TODAY as a reporter in the New Orleans bureau. Konigsmark has previously worked for the San Jose Mercury News as reporter and assistant bureau chief in Palo Alto, Calif. and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a regional reporter based in New Orleans. She has been a freelance writer and editor for the past four years. She has also done freelance work for The New Orleans Times-Picayune and National Public Radio.

"The rebuilding of New Orleans is going to be a compelling story for a long time to come," said Ken Paulson, editor of USA TODAY. "Opening this bureau gives us a base from which to cover the economic, environmental and political developments that will shape the region's future."

The news office will be located at 125 Mallard Street, Suite D, St. Rose, La., 70087.
