United Natural Foods Bottom Line Drops 25% In Q2

(RTTNews) - United Natural Foods (UNFI) announced earnings for second quarter that declined compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit dropped to $24.46 million, or $0.49 per share. This was lower than $32.52 million, or $0.65 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.49 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.5% to $2.05 billion. This was up from $2.02 billion last year.
