Unifor partners with Canadian Red Cross for hurricane disaster relief

OTTAWA, Sept. 21, 2017 /CNW/ - Unifor, through the Union's Social Justice Fund, has donated $500,000 to the Canadian Red Cross for hurricane relief in the Caribbean.

"People across the Caribbean are suffering tremendously as they cope with devastating damage caused by multiple hurricanes," said Unifor National President Jerry Dias. "Unifor is proud to partner with the Canadian Red Cross to help supplies and services get to where they are desperately needed."

"This generous donation will help some of the most vulnerable impacted families and individuals as they recover and rebuild," said Conrad Sauvé, President and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross.

On September 22, Unifor National President Jerry Dias will officially present the $500,000 donation to Canadian Red Cross President and CEO Conrad Sauvé.
