Ultimate Software Executive Joins HR-XML Consortium Board of Directors

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of end-to-end strategic human resources, payroll, and talent management solutions, announced today that Ted Malley, vice president of technology strategy for Ultimate Software, has been elected to serve on the HR-XML Consortium’s board of directors. The HR-XML Consortium is the leading source of global interoperability standards for human resources management. The HR-XML Consortium is an independent, non-profit coalition of HR consultants, specialists, and senior-level executives from software development firms, benefits administrators, and recruiting businesses. The coalition develops interoperability specifications and standard protocols for electronic data exchange between arms-length service providers in the area of human resources management and makes the standards freely available. The HR-XML Consortium’s board of directors creates the organization’s strategic plans and policies. "Ultimate Software was a founding member of the board when the consortium began nine years ago and we are happy to continue our leadership role,” said Malley. "The HR-XML Consortium is a future-thinking organization, and its objective to standardize how workforce management solutions exchange XML data over the Internet is closely aligned with Ultimate Software’s technology goals. With the reality of web 2.0, it becomes essential that there is a common XML format that web services can use to enable rapid integration of software-as-a-service solutions. We believe that the consortium’s work is a critical foundation for realizing the vision of interoperability and business agility promised by today’s service oriented architectures,” said Malley. Ted Malley has more than 15 years of experience in the HRMS industry and is currently responsible for driving the technology vision and strategy for Ultimate Software. He began his career with Ultimate Software in 1997. "We are extremely pleased to have Ultimate Software, as a leader in the HR software and services industry, represented on HR-XML's board of directors by Ted Malley,” said Chuck Allen, director of the HR-XML Consortium. "Ted brings a lot to the table, and we expect him to be a significant contributor.” About the HR-XML Consortium In its ninth year of operations, the HR-XML Consortium, Inc. is the recognized authority on, and leading source of, global interoperability standards for human resources management.
