UGI Q2 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - UGI Corp. (UGI) Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $214.4 million or $1.84 per share, up from $180.7 million or $1.57 per share last year.

Adjusted net income rose to $222.1 million or $1.90 per share, up from $174.0 million or $1.51 per share last year. On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a earnings of $1.58 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the second quarter rose to $3.16 billion from $2.54 billion last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $2.67 billion for the quarter.

Looking forward, the company now expects full-year 2014 adjusted earnings of $2.95 to $3.05 per share, up from prior outlook of $2.60 to $2.70 per share. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $2.72 per share for the year.
