UGI Corp. Earnings Rise In Q1

(RTTNews) - UGI Corp. (UGI) revealed a profit for its first quarter that climbed from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $179.3 million, or $1.01 per share. This was higher than $160.9 million, or $0.91 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.95 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 26.8% to $2.13 billion. This was up from $1.68 billion last year.
