Toyota Plans To Sell Over 1 Million Zero-Emission Cars By 2030

(RTTNews) - Toyota, the world's largest car manufacturer, Monday said it aims to sell over 5.5 million electrified vehicles by 2030, including 1 million "zero-emissions" vehicles that include battery electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The Japanese automotive giant plans toward the popularization of electrified vehicles for the decade 2020-2030, with focus on the development and launch plans of hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, and fuel cell electric vehicles.

Toyota expects every model in the Toyota and Lexus line-up around the world to be available either as a dedicated electrified model or have an electrified option by 2025.

Toyota will accelerate the popularization of battery electric vehicles with more than 10 models to be available worldwide by the early 2020s, starting in China, before entering other markets with gradual introduction to Japan, India, United States and Europe is expected.
