Toyota April US Sales Up 9.0% - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) Thursday reported a 9.0 percent increase in US April sales to 199,660 units from 176,160 units last year. On a DSR basis, TMS sales were up 13.3 percent from last year.

Toyota division sales in April climbed 7.4 percent year-over-year to 176,495 units and Lexus reported April sales of 23,165 units, a 23.1 percent increase on a DSR and a 28 percent increase on a raw-volume basis, both year-over-year.

Toyota division car sales grew 4.5 percent to 97,724 units, on growth at Corolla and Camry brands. Lexus car sales rose 25.4 percent to 13,087 units.

Toyota division truck sales were up 11.2 percent at 78,771 mainly on robust demand for RAV4 brand. Highlander, 4Runner and Sienna also saw growth.

Lexus division truck sales climbed 20.2% to 10,078 units.
