Tenet Healthcare Q3 Profit Declines

(RTTNews) - Hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC) posted third-quarter net income attributable to common shareholders of $28 million after-tax, or $0.27 per share, compared to $40 million after-tax, or $0.37 per share, in the previous year.

Income from continuing operations for the latest third quarter was $0.32 per share, up from $0.28 per share last year. On average, 20 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.45 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net operating revenues were $2.41 billion, up 8.4 percent from $2.22 billion in the prior year period, whereas 13 analysts estimated revenues of $2.39 billion for the quarter.
