Sodexo Reinforces European Management Team
Regulatory News:
Sodexo (PARIS:SW) (OTCBB:SDXAY) announced today a reinforcement of
its European management team. Yann Coléou,
currently CEO for France, is being appointed Chief Executive for the UK
and Ireland and will be replaced by Michel Franceschi, currently CEO for
Southern Europe. The changes will take effect May 1, 2008. Yann Coléou is appointed Chief
Executive for the UK and Ireland where Sodexo employs 43,000 people and
has revenue of 1.595 billion euros. Yann Coléou
has led Sodexo’s Food and Facilities
Management services activities in France since 2003. Beginning in 2006,
he also has been in charge of the Group's activities in India, a
responsibility he will retain in addition to his new responsibilities.
Yann Coléou also serves as Chairman of France’s
Foodservices Association (Syndicat français
de la Restauration collective) and Vice-President of the European
federation of contract catering organisations (FERCO). A 1983 graduate
of France’s Institut Supérieur
de Gestion (ISG), Yann Coléou joined Sodexo
in 1985. He held several positions in Sodexo’s
Healthcare Division before becoming Chief Executive Officer in 1999. In
2002, Yann Coléou was given responsibility
for Corporate Services major accounts before being named CEO for France
where Sodexo employs more than 32,000 people and generates 1.539 billion
euros in revenue.
As Chief Executive for the UK and Ireland, he will be based in London
and report to Philip Jansen, Group Chief Operating Office in charge of
Europe.
Michel Franceschi joined Sodexo in Paris in 1985. Over his
20-year career, he has held a number of key positions within the Group's
Food and Facilities Management services, Remote Sites and Service
Vouchers and Cards activities. His knowledge of all of Sodexo’s
businesses is coupled with significant international experience, having
previously led Sodexo’s activities in Gabon,
Chile and Spain before being named, in 2005, CEO for Southern Europe
(Spain, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, Morocco, Israel and Turkey), a region
in which Sodexo generates 680 million euros in revenue.
In addition to his new responsibilities in France, Michel Franceschi
will continue to be responsible for Morocco. Currently based in Italy,
he will move to Paris to undertake his new responsibilities.
Michel Franceschi holds a degree in advanced commercial, administrative
and financial studies from the Ecole Supérieure
de Commerce EUROMED in Marseilles, France (1984).
