Simmons First National Q1 Adj. Profit Meets Estimate

(RTTNews) - Simmons First National Corp. (SFNC), a provider of banking products and services to individual and corporate customers in Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas, Thursday reported first-quarter net income of $4.4 million, or $0.27 per share, compared to $5.9 million, or $0.36 per share, last year.

Excluding certain items, earnings were $7.5 million, or $0.46 per share, compared with $6.1 million, or $0.37 per share, a year earlier. On average, 3 analysts polled by Thomson-Reuters estimated the company's earnings to be $0.46 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net interest income for the latest quarter rose 38.1% to $41.5 million from $30.1 million a year ago, while non-interest income decreased to $9.2 million from $11.3 million a year earlier.
