    AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2005--Silicon Laboratories Inc. (Nasdaq:SLAB) today announced that Askey Computer Corporation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of cable and ADSL modems, has adopted Silicon Laboratories' Si3210 ProSLIC(R) solution and Si3050 voice direct access arrangement (DAA) for its new family of voice-enabled ADSL modems. Silicon Laboratories' globally compliant, highly integrated solutions provide a complete telephony interface for voice over ADSL solutions enabling consumers to choose between traditional telephone services and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) with one ADSL modem.
    Silicon Laboratories' Si3210 ProSLIC solution integrates a subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC), codec and tracking battery supply into a low-voltage CMOS IC. By offering software-programmable operation and integrated test and line monitoring, the ProSLIC products allow a single hardware design to be implemented worldwide while significantly reducing line provisioning and support costs for service providers.
    The Si3050 complete voice DAA solution extends the market-leading performance of Silicon Laboratories' silicon DAA products into the voice telephony market. Based on Silicon Laboratories' patented capacitive isolation technology, the voice DAA uses low-cost, high-voltage capacitors in place of a transformer resulting in a highly integrated solution and improved immunity to high-voltage surges over discrete DAAs.
