Service Corp. International Bottom Line Advances 32% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Service Corp. International (SCI) announced a profit for its first quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $73.0 million, or $0.38 per share. This was up from $55.3 million, or $0.28 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.30 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.8% to $777.7 million. This was up from $749.2 million last year.
