Sempra Energy Q3 adjusted earnings Beat Estimates

(RTTNews) - Sempra Energy (SRE) reported a profit for its third quarter that climbed from the same period last year.

The company's earnings came in at $274 million, or $0.99 per share. This compares with $57 million, or $0.22 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, Sempra Energy reported adjusted earnings of $339 million or $1.23 per share for the period.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.13 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 9.7% to $2.94 billion from $2.68 billion last year.
