SAP Recognizes Milestone for Midsize Companies with 10,000th SAP(R) All-in-One Customer
PANAMA CITY, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Reaching a landmark in market uptake of its solutions for midsize companies, SAP AG today recognized the 10,000th customer for its SAP(R) All-in-One micro-vertical industry solutions. U&M Mineracao, a Brazilian engineering, heavy construction and mining contractor company with local and global building interests, has become the 10,000th customer by selecting a qualified SAP All-in-One partner solution from Procwork in order to better integrate its operations and support local and international growth. The announcement was made at the SAP Latin American Partner Summit, a gathering of hundreds of SAP channel partners serving small businesses and midsize companies, being held Aug. 8-9 in Panama City, Panama.
The landmark customer relationship showcases the growth of SAP in serving small businesses and midsize companies in Brazil and across Latin America. It was recorded in SAP's most recent financial quarter, in which the company achieved 19 percent annual worldwide growth and a total of 10,223 SAP All-in-One customers. With this milestone in customer adoption, SAP strengthens its leadership position in the small and midsize customer segment, one of the company's targeted pillars of future growth. SAP currently counts 24,890 small and midsize customers served by its growing global network of nearly 2,362 qualified partners.
"The signing of our 10,000th SAP All-in-One customer by Procwork demonstrates the momentum we are achieving with midsize companies and small businesses across the Latin American region," said Luis Murguia, senior vice president, SME, SAP America Inc., at the SAP Latin American Partner Summit. "We're especially pleased to celebrate this milestone with Procwork and the hundreds of partners from the region who join us here at our Summit event and who share our commitment to the long-term success of our customers."
U&M Adopts Platform for Growth with SAP All-in-One Solution from Procwork
U&M, a successful engineering, heavy construction and mining contractor company with exceptional growth rates in recent years, decided it was time to restructure and upgrade its management and better integrate its operations with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. U&M was also looking for a partner that could provide a technology and process platform to support the company's planned expansion. Procwork was selected as the qualified SAP All-in-One partner to implement its engineering and construction solution, Lega Construction. Procwork's expertise and vast experience with implementations in the industry, along with the built-in best practices of SAP All-in-One, proved a perfect match for U&M's needs. The company selected SAP and Procwork because they offered the best product and platform together with the knowledge, customer base and proven references in the engineering and construction sector.
"With the engineering and construction solution from Procwork, we now have a microvertical solution based on SAP ERP and SAP Best Practices, and the platform to adapt and meet new business challenges over time," said Ricardo Xavier Correia, director of Administration and Finance, U&M Mineracao e Construcao S/A. "Working with Procwork, we were able to map out a solution with fixed-scope, predictable implementation that addresses our immediate needs and prepares us to realize our goals for future growth."
Micro-vertical Industry Expertise from SAP and its partners
With approximately 660 SAP All-in-One solutions developed, localized and delivered through a network of approximately 1,050 partners in more than 50 countries, SAP and its partners offer the world's largest portfolio of industry solutions designed specifically for midsize companies. Providing proven vertical-industry capabilities, configurability to meet changing business needs and predictable cost of ownership, the qualified SAP All-in-One partner solutions are based on SAP(R) ERP and include award-winning "micro- vertical" best practices from SAP and its partners. The latest version of the solutions currently being introduced to market this year leverage SAP ERP and the SAP NetWeaver(R) platform to enable dramatic improvements in user experience, analytical reporting, adaptability and rapid deployment. By introducing the benefits of enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) from SAP ERP in an evolutionary way, the solutions allow partners and the midsize companies they serve to adopt innovations over time, thus minimizing costs and disruption to ongoing operations.
"Midsize companies are realizing the value of SAP All-in-One micro- vertical solutions that can be rapidly deployed by leveraging SAP ERP and proven industry best practices," said Eric Duffaut, executive vice president, Global SME Sales and Channels, SAP AG. "Our 10,000th SAP All-in-One customer underscores our ability to deliver on SAP's ambitions for the SME space, and signals the next phase in the ongoing expansion of our product portfolio, delivery channels and customer base among small businesses and midsize companies."
