Salesforce.com Inc Earnings Climb 55% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Salesforce.com Inc (CRM) revealed a profit for its first quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $167.53 million, or $0.24 per share. This was higher than $108.34 million, or $0.16 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.23 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 27.2% to $1.92 billion. This was up from $1.51 billion last year.
