Roxanne Horning named Gannett's senior vice president of Human Resources

Roxanne V. Horning today was named senior vice presidentof Human Resources for Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:GCI), effectiveimmediately. She will become a member of the Gannett ManagementCommittee, the company's advisory group of top executives.

"Gannett is extremely fortunate to have such a knowledgeable andexperienced professional to head our Human Resources efforts at such acritical time for the company," said Craig A. Dubow, chairman,president and CEO of Gannett. "With the implementation of ourstrategic plan in high gear, we are acutely aware that our people areour greatest asset. Roxanne's expertise and her institutionalknowledge combine to make her exactly the person to guide our effortsto recruit, train and develop our employees as we move into thefuture."

Horning has been Gannett's vice president/Human Resources sinceApril, 2005 and has more than 25 years experience in employeebenefits, compensation and human resources. She joined Gannett in 1984as manager/Employee Benefits and rose through the Human Resourcesdepartment to become the vice president of Employee Benefits in 1995and vice president/ Compensation and Benefits in 2003. She was namedGannett's Corporate Staffer of the Year in 1997.

Prior to Gannett, she served as employee benefits manager at theFederal Reserve Board and was director of Employee Benefits for anational retail chain. Horning is a member of the society for HumanResource Management and the Employee Benefits Council of TheConference Board; the Council on Employee Benefits; and the ErisaIndustry Committee. She graduated from Smith College with a B.A. inhistory.
