Rambus Swings To Q4 Profit; Q1, FY15 Revenue Outlook Weak

(RTTNews) - Rambus Inc. (RMBS) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $7.8 million or $0.07 per share, compared to a net loss of $9.8 million or $0.09 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted net income for the latest quarter was $16.7 million or $0.14 per share.

Revenue for the fourth quarter fell 2% to $72.04 million from $73.42 million a year ago, mainly due to lower royalty revenue from Samsung and NVIDIA, offset by the royalty revenue from Qualcomm and Micron Technology.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.06 per share on revenue of $72.38 million for the fourth quarter. Analyst' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking forward, the company forecasts revenue of $70 million to $75 million for the first quarter and $300 million to $315 million for the full year 2015. Analysts currently expect the company to post revenue of $76.75 million for the first quarter and $319.09 million for the full year 2015.
