R. Lucia Riddle of the Principal Financial Group Named One of the "Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America"

R. Lucia Riddle, vice president of Federal Government Relations at the Principal Financial Group®, has been named by Savoy Professional magazine as one of the "Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America. The prestigious list showcases leaders with exemplary accomplishments, influence in their companies and communities and an ability to inspire others.

Riddle currently co-directs legislative and advocacy efforts in the Washington, D.C. office of the Principal Financial Group, with a focus on the companys life and health, privacy, tax and financial services issues. She joined the company in 1974 as a management trainee in the health division and since then, Riddle has risen through the organization, serving in a variety of leadership roles.

Riddle serves on the boards of the Executive Leadership Council, Public Affairs Council, Guttmacher Institute, African-American Experience Fund of the National Parks Service, Smithsonian National Museum of African American Art, National Coalition and Caucus for the Black Aged, Americans for UNFPA and is an Honorary Trustee of the Des Moines Art Center. She is also a member of the Washington Government Relations Group, the Capital City Chapter of The Links, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is a member of Sigma Iota Epsilon, an honorary business fraternity.

Also active in many industry organizations, Riddle is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and holds professional designations from Americas Health Insurance Plans and the International Claims Association. She is a member of several insurance and financial service industry related technical and policy committees for organizations such as; Americas Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the American Benefits Council (ABC), the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), the Business Roundtable (BRT), the Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Riddle received her MBA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
