Prudential Financial Swings To Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Prudential Financial, Inc. (PRU) reported net income for its Financial Services Businesses for second quarter of $1.05 billion or $2.22 per share, compared to a net loss of $517 million or $1.12 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Adjusted operating earnings for the Financial Services Businesses for the second quarter was $1.18 billion or $2.49 per share, compared to $1.09 billion or $2.30 per share in the prior year quarter.

Total Financial Services Businesses revenue fell to $11.11 billion from $11.72 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $2.35 per share on revenue of $11.12 billion for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
