Potlatch Foundation Scholarships Top $10 Million! Recipients for 2005-

    SPOKANE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2005--Potlatch Corporation (NYSE:PCH) Foundation for Higher Education scholarships have provided more than $10.4 million to 3,075 deserving students since its inception over a half century ago. For the 2004-05 school year, 75 scholarships are being awarded in Idaho-Washington, Minnesota and Arkansas.

    A list of recipients, by state, is attached.

    Potlatch Foundation Trustees select scholarship recipients on the basis of financial need, as well as scholastic achievement, school and community activities, and character references. This year's recipients were chosen from 600 applicants.
    The scholarships are renewable annually for qualifying students, up to a total of four years, depending on their specific award.
