    ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2005--Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (NASDAQ:PSUN) today reported that total sales for the five weeks of December of fiscal 2004 were $218.3 million, an increase of 16.4% over total sales of $187.5 million for the five weeks of December of fiscal 2003. Company same store sales increased 5.3% for the comparable five-week period ended January 1, 2005. PacSun same store sales increased 5.0% and d.e.m.o. same store sales increased 8.3%.
    December year to date sales for fiscal 2004 were $1,162.9 million, an increase of 18.0% over total sales of $985.8 million for the same period of fiscal 2003. Company same store sales increased 7.3% year to date for fiscal 2004 with PacSun same store sales up 7.5% and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 5.6%.
    Based upon December sales results, the Company is comfortable with the current analyst consensus of $.53 in earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2004.
