Novara Introduces its 2014 Bicycles

SEATTLE, Sept. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Pedal around the city streets, ride the open road or hop over stumps during off-road adventures with one of Novara's 2014 bicycles. Sold only at REI stores and REI.com, the 2014 bicycle line includes new and updated designs to meet a variety of riding levels.

Novara's 2014 line will offer REI customers affordable urban bicycles equipped with belt drives, mountable baskets and a new 27.5" off-road bicycle. Three new urban bicycles, the Gotham, Arkham and Barrow, will be available starting as early as mid-October 2013.

Low Maintenance

Glide smoothly on the 2014 Novara Gotham, a perfect bicycle for those who prefer low maintenance and easy riding. Its 360 NuVinci® N360 hub makes shifting as easy as turning the volume up on a radio with no clicking or shifting of gears. The chainless Gates Carbon Drive™ is also a favorite for those who prefer to ride to work and not get grease on their clothes. This updated version offers riders a lighter-weight aluminum frame and "N-Dock" mounting system for the aftermarket Novara Barrow bicycle basket, sold separately. Price $1,399.

Affordable Belt Drive

Hop on Novara's new Arkham, a three-speed easy-rider, to experience the comfort of Gotham's geometry with a Gates Carbon Drive. This lightweight bicycle sports an aluminum frame and fork, while its N-Dock mount design allows easy attachment of the Novara Barrow basket, sold separately. Price $849.

Ride and Carry Gear

Carry gear, books or a grocery bag easily through town with Novara's new Barrow. This bicycle is designed with a rear rack and front basket already attached to its N-Dock mounting system. Gear stays balanced while the basket stays straight on the bicycle even when the handle bars are turning a corner. The Chromoly frame and fork deliver a smooth, sturdy ride, and hills and streets are no problem thanks to 24 gears. Price $749.

Urban Bicycling Apparel

For those who want to ride in style, the Novara Mainline apparel collection offers riders functional, fashionable apparel choices for urban bicycling adventures. Featured designs for 2014 include the Whittier Dress paired with the Women's Padded Boy Shorts for added comfort when riding, a Fells Point Poncho that provides an extra layer of production from the elements and various tops, shorts and pants designed for riding and playing on and off the bicycle.

Off-Road

This November, the Novara Ponderosa 27.5 will also be available at REI. This off-road roller offers a big-wheeled riding experience for those who don't quite fit a 29er. With slightly smaller 27.5" tires, this bicycle is quicker to accelerate, lighter weight and just as rugged as its bigger brother, the Ponderosa 29er. Price $899.
