News Corporation Files Application to Cease to Be a Reporting Issuer in Canada
News Corporation (NASDAQ: NWS, NWSA; ASX: NWS, NWSLV) (the "Corporation") today announced that it has applied to the Autorité des marchés financiers for a decision that it be deemed to have ceased to be a reporting issuer in Québec. If the decision is granted, the Corporation will no longer be a reporting issuer in any jurisdiction in Canada.
The Corporation does not believe that its securityholders in Canada will be materially prejudiced by this decision since the nature and scope of publicly available information about the Corporation required by U.S. securities laws is substantially the same as the information such securityholders are currently receiving under the U.S./Canada Multijurisdictional Disclosure System.
The Corporation's securityholders, including those resident in Québec, will continue to have access to the Corporation’s disclosure documents filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") through the Corporation's corporate website at www.newscorp.com and at the SEC's web site at www.sec.gov.
