News Brief: Uwe Herold Joins SAP as New CIO

WALLDORF, Germany, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG today announced the appointment of Uwe Herold to the position of chief information officer (CIO). As of October 1, 2006, Herold will be based in Walldorf, Germany, where he joins the Board area Human Resources, Processes & Production reporting directly to Claus Heinrich, member of the Executive Board. Herold has 15 years of business process engineering and IT management experience.

Coming to SAP from the automotive supplier Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co, Germany, as CIO he was responsible for the Brose Group information systems Germany as well as for the introduction and migration of various SAP applications.

Before joining Brose in 1999, Herold worked for Hydac Filtertechnik GmbH, Germany, where he headed up the company's process engineering and organizational development.

Herold holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany.
