Netflix Q4 Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) reported net income for the fourth quarter of $83.4 million or $1.35 per share, compared to $48.4 million or $0.79 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Revenue for the fourth quarter rose to $1.48 billion from $1.18 billion a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.45 per share on revenue of $1.48 billion for the fourth quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

In the fourth quarter, the company added 4.33 million members vs 4.07 million in the previous year period. The company expects to end first quarter 2015 with 61.4 million global members.
