NCC to Build Energy-Smart Indoor Swimming Complex in Malmö for SEK 320 million

Regulatory News:

NCC (STO:NCCA)(STO:NCCB) has secured an assignment from the city of Malmö’s Urban Property Department to build a new indoor swimming pool in the city district of Hyllie in Malmö, Sweden. The order, which is valued at approximately SEK 320 million, will be implemented in cooperation with the customer and will be registered among orders in the first quarter 2013.

With the new indoor swimming pool, Hyllie will have a family-friendly facility of about 10,000 square meters with a 50-meter pool, family pools with water slides, relaxation and fitness sections and two training pools in separate rooms.

Hylliebadet will be one of Sweden’s most energy-efficient swimming complexes, with a well-insulated building and a high degree of energy recycling.

"NCC has longstanding experience of the construction of swimming complexes and will utilize its specialized subsidiary, Anjobygg, for the project engineering and control of the Hyllie project,” says Martin Andersson, Business Manager at NCC Construction, Southern Region.

The project will be operated in the form of a customer-contractor collaboration, referred to as NCC Partnering (http://www.ncc.se/en/Cases-and-concepts/NCC-Partnering/), which is a structured form of cooperation in which developers, consultants and contractors jointly resolve a construction assignment. The method is based on an open and trusting collaboration in which each party’s expertise complements the others throughout the project’s phases.

Excavation work commences in February and the swimming complex is scheduled to be completed by year-end 2014.

The project will be registered among orders in the NCC Construction Sweden business area in the first quarter of 2013.
