Muriel Nichols Joins Eaton Vance Investment Counsel

Eaton Vance Corp., a Boston-based investment management firm, announced today that Muriel I. Nichols has joined its subsidiary, Eaton Vance Investment Counsel (EVIC) as Vice President of Tax and Estate Planning. In this role, Ms. Nichols reports to G. West "Westy” Saltonstall, President and CEO of EVIC. Eaton Vance Investment Counsel provides investment management and counseling services to high net worth individuals and families, trusts and foundations. "We are excited to welcome Muriel to Eaton Vance,” said Mr. Saltonstall. "Muriel’s expertise in estate and financial planning will prove to be a valuable asset for our high net worth clients. In addition, her background in law will be a beneficial resource in conducting business with clients’ attorneys and accountants throughout the investment counseling process.” Ms. Nichols joined Eaton Vance from U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, where she served as Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist. At U.S. Trust she was responsible for estate and financial planning for high net worth individuals and families in the private client group. Before joining U.S. Trust, she served as Vice President at The Boston Company. Ms. Nichols managed trust accounts and served as a senior fiduciary counselor to the Trust and Investment Division and to Shearson Lehman Trust Company, a subsidiary of The Boston Company. She has also served with the Bank of New England and at American National Bank & Trust Company of Chicago. Currently, Ms. Nichols is serving on the Estate Planning Committees of both the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations. Ms. Nichols holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
